T+A PA 1530 R vs MBL 7006 (English)

Hello everyone!

Sorry for posting in English but I don't speak German and I need a few opinions on the two integrateds mentioned in the title. I've looked on English forums but nobody listened to these integrateds (T+A is not very well known in the USA although it seems that their products are very well received by those who listen to them). Anyone had a chance of comparing the two models? The MBL is 4000 Euro and the T+A 3300 Euro; also the MBL is newer on the market, the T+A has at least 5 years since it was released (does anyone know if they plan to introduce a new flagship integrated in the R Serie?). Would the MBL sound better then the T+A? I don't like an warm, euphonic sound. I prefer clarity and neutrality, with precise imaging.

I plan to match one of these integrateds with the ATC SCM 40. They have a sensitivity of 85dB so I'm leaning toward the T+A because it's a little more powerful then the MBL.

Another thing I'd like to know is if the fan on the T+A is noisy; thats one of the things that makes me hesitate in choosing the T+A. Does the fan spins all the time or just when the amplifier gets hot? I'd hate to have a noisy fan or start to become noisy with the passing of time just like a PC.

Hi Sunya, and welcome here!

I can`t answer your questions, since I haven´t listen to none of the amps you `re asking for, but I`ll translate your post just to improve your chances to get answers.
And be patient, these amps aren`t that widespread here either!

Ich habe vor, den Amp mit den ATC SM40 (link) zu betreiben. Sie haben einen Wirkungsgrad von 85db, so daß ich eher zum etwas kräftigeren T+A tendiere.

Eine weitere Frage die mich interessiert wäre ob der Lüfter der T+A Geräusche macht, diese Frage lässt mich zögern mich für T+A zu entscheiden.
Läuft der Lüfter die ganze Zeit oder nur wenn der Amp heiß wird? Ich würde es nicht mögen, wenn der Amp mit der Zeit Geräusche macht wie ein PC.

Hi.

At first sorry for my english.

I owend the forerunner T+A PA 1500 R an I think based on your sound ambitions is the T+a exactly what you are lokking for.

He sounds clear, neutral and precise. Typical T+A Sound.

I have never heard the other on but in case of the higher price and your ambitions is the T+A the rigth chois in my eys.

The cooler is only runnig when the amp gets hot or he is so quiet that you don't here him the whole time ;).

Thank you very much stereo-leo and Zim for your help. I've looked long ago on the T+A website. They look to me like a company dedicated to quality without overpricing their products. Good to know that the cooler isn't noisy.

One thing I'd like to see from them is the offering of balanced inputs on their products (at least on the R Serie) even if they are not truly balanced designs. I also have a Weiss DAC1 MKII (same as the Medea but a pro model) and it has only balanced outputs. So I'd have to use XLR-RCA cables with their integrated. From what I see only their large amplifier, the A 1530 R, has balanced inputs.

On Audiogon those who listened to T+A were very impressed by them. Check what it has to say about the P 1230 R preamp Ted Denney, the designer of Synergistic Research cables.

Hi!
well I can`t tell how the MBL sounds, but i can tell you that I´m a T+A fan for many years.
I love the T+A`s, they are very good made for the money!
I have the PA 1530 R, please take a look at my page.
