Canton GLE 420.2 or Canton Chrono 501.2?

Good morning,

You want to replace your complete system or do you want to keep some of your speakers? I recommend not to mix speakers. The GLE series ist the beginner class, Chrono the next better one. The 490 is a column speaker, the 420 a compact speaker. What is the reason for this change, aren`t you no more satisfied? It will be helpful, if you show some photos from your room.

I only want to replace my surrounds in my 7.1 system. At the moment i have mixed speakers there, Dynavoice Magic LCR-5 EX v.3 as side and Yamaha NS-333 as rears. I like the sound of Canton and now want every speaker to be from that brand. I have also thought of maybe take one step up to Chrono, but I'm not sure, I havn't heard them. Is it a big difference between them? But if I stick with GLE you think I should get 420?

What do you think of matching Canton with Marantz? I will soon get a new reciever but I don't really know which brand that will make it best for them. At the moment I have Sony STR -DN1050 but I want Atmos and DTS:X.

To be honest, I havn`t heard the Chrono series vs GLE, there should be a difference but maybe not that big. You have the GLE as front speakers, so I would take also GLE as Rear speakers

It doesn`t matter, which receiver you use, could be Marantz, could be Denon (Denon and Marantz belong together) I can recommend the Denon AVR X 4200 including Atmos and also DTS X as a 5.1.4 setup, here you just need one additional amp, could be a small one.
