2K on cables is not that 'mad' !!!

If he used Nordost - Valhalla or Purist Audio Design - Dominus or Transparent - Opus or Synergestic Designers Deference then I am sure even if his MIL [Mother In Law] shouted from the next building he would have heard her....
Just Kidding..........

To get to a more serious issue, can all or any of our forum members 'hear' the difference between different cables ?

Are our systems up to that level [in resolution] that a cable change can be 'heard' !!!!!

more often than not; cables are used as 'equalizers' to balance ones system out.

We Audiophile balieve in a 'straight & simple' approach - no bass & treble controls etc. but we use cables to control the sound.

'Roll off the Highs' - 'Bass Gets Better - more Focused'
so on and so forth. These are the comments you will hear more often than not. Is this the right approach ????

bob...finally you are going to have to make your system sound good to you so cables are definately in the equation. So its not wrong to try and tune your sound with cables. But changing hardware to a notch higher or two would make a bigger difference.

I believe that if someone is to spend 15-20k or more on cables, better sell your weak link component, put that money into a better component.

About hearing differences, my speakers can show me differences in spkr cables very easily. Its the interconnects that I have a bit of trouble diffrentiating sometimes as my electronics are an entry level nad521i+nad320bee. But the same electronics have shown me differences between a few interconnects as well. So differences I can hear but mostly small yet significant, sometimes none at all.
