Hi,

These past few days there has been a lot of excitement on AA,Ak and various tube hi-fi groups about the re starting of tube/valve production at the Mullard factory at Blackburn.

Here is the link.

http://www.techtubevalves.com/about_us/index.php

There is a nice film about tube manufacturing on the website.

One of the group members on the Yhaoo H.J.Leak groups has written to them and I am posting the mail also.

OK here is the reply, it did say confidential at the end of the email
but Andy said it was OK to repost it.

<<<<<<<<<<Thanks you for the interest in the new TechTube brand of
valves.

At the present time we are assessing the market to see which should be
the
next valve after the E813CC, E812CC and E811CC.

Power valves are in our scope for the future but what first? EL34, EL84
KT88, KT90, there are so many directions that are possible.

Samples will be available for purchase when we launch the sales part of
the
web site. Our expected sales launch will be October. Pricing, ordering
and
other such things will be on the WEB site as we are not going through
dealers or distribution in the initial start up phase.

As for further information, the WEB site will have a news and forum
starting
soon so please keep an eye on things and give us your feed back.

With kind regards,

the vintage tape reel showing the construction of a valve/tube is fantastic.
The commentary is just right.

Thanx for sharing!

Gr8 !

Wonder if they would be as good as the oldies ?

Many say the tung sol of old are a couple of notches higher
than the current clones badged tung sol.

Thank you for your interest in our TechTube valves.

Samples and larger volumes will be available for purchase when we launch the sales part of the web site towards the end of October may slip into November. Pricing, ordering, shipping and other such things will be on the WEB site as we are not going through dealers or distribution in the initial start up phase. Pricing will be in the region of £20 - £30 per valve plus shipping which we are reviewing now with UPS, DHL & FedEx.

For further information, we are starting with the E813CC, E812CC & E811CC valves this year and then looking to the following: EL34, EL84, KT88, KT99. Which one to start with is still under discussion but we expect to launch in the early part of 2009.

Hi,
The above is a mail from Tech Tube valves.Hopefully these valves will be as good if not better than the original Mullards.

Pricing seems a little on the higher side, but considering what NOS ecc83's are going for it seems inexpensive.

30 pounds is perfectly acceptable if these sound like the vintage mullards. If not, they are in trouble.
