Hi again!

I have a Grundig CD 7500 cd player here with me, made by Philips I think... I wanna know if someone knows it. I think it sounds really great, but mine is a little broken. I need to change the electrolitical condensators I think... but I don´t know If I must do it or buy a new one... Probably it will be expensive to buy another one that sounds like this one. But it´s from the 80´s and I don´t remember very well how it sounded years ago, when it wasn´t broken. But everyone says it´s a great one and that it sounds very very good.

So anyone knows it and can say me if thats totally true? It´s a hard job for me to fix it, so I must be sure...

Hmmm... no cost at all. Only time. I can get the condensators for free, but it´s a hard work. And I don´t like to waste time, I prefer waste money

old cd players were in my opinion good...A very close friend of mine still uses an "enlightened audio" cd player from the 80's and wont change that for the world...to be honest its the best cd player I have heard till date so if this is a classic it is well worth it ...I guess....you can waste money later if this doesn't turn out as good as you expected :-)

Why do you want to waste time ? a grundig service centre would do it for you ???

Yes, that´s my idea. But not yet.

I think I´ll do it anyway. If it works ok, great! if it doesn´t I´ll see some new options.

Look at it this way, its never a waste of time, its broke now, and when ur done it works. you can make someone else happy with it, or sell it offcourse

I´m finishing repairing my valve amplifier, after that I´ll work on the CD player, I´m sure that system will sound pretty good

There are some things that I prefer to do by myself, specially those relationated with music and more concretely with valves, I think that actually there´s few people that can perfectly repair valve things, so I prefer to do It by myself and not to pay someone to do it but not really goodly done.

The amplifier is repaired but I want to change all the condensators, if I don´t do it now, i will must do it shortly.
I haven´t began with the cd player yet, probably I´ll need a schematic diagram and I don´t have it so... I don´t know what I´ll do yet. I´ll probably have the amplifier this weekend, I´ll make some photos.

webon...my uncle used to have an old Rogers valve amp....simply brilliant....I still feel the sound from that amp was better than very many modern day fancy electronic ones.

Yeah... valve sound is very special. Anyway I´m not sure yet if I must plug my speakers on it or not

but if I don´t I´ll always have that question in my mind...

I don´t know exactly how to write their name. Is something like Miniwatt or Minivat... they´re very old but good speakers.

I don´t wanna get rid of my new speakers!! The old ones have a special, sentimental value for me you know... they´ve been with me for about 12 years. My father used to bought them and he mounted them, then he used to sold them a dealer here, and my old speakers are one of those speakers.

Naturally I prefer the sound of the B&Ws... they´re logically much better, but the other ones have a speacial value for me, that´s the reason.

As you can see I changed the tweeter, it broke, but the middle and the woofer are the original ones. I changed the woofer of the other speaker, I... errrrrr... crossed it with a screwdriver (I know, I know...

). I put a beyma woofer instead

so the sound wasn´t the same at all.

By the way, probably I´ll test my valve amplifier today

. If not it will be soon, and I´ll take some photos soon too.

I´ve been testing my valve amp... I think I´m gonna throw it away, like my father said me... I prefer the sound of my shitty transistor amp

Anyway I´ll make some photos before doing it. And I´ll do to the Grundig CD 7500 too, cause I´m gonna throw it away too...

Don´t wanna waste more my time.

Better sell it at Ebay. You get good prices for a CD 7500, even when its broken.

Special fundamentalistic sentimental? I dont understand that. A speker must be good! And this grundig doesnt look good and its from Germany. So listen to your wonderfull b&w speakers and be happy!

I´m all the day listening to them (now Earl Klugh and Bob James are playing for me...) but I only mean that I prefer to broke my B&Ws than the other ones.

By the way the Grundig is the CD player, not the speakers

Anyway I would like a better amp

but everyone that has being make tests with me thinks that my amp sound pretty good for the money I´ve spend on it, and I think that too.

I will not buy anything. I´ll put a Pioneer DVD and my system is finished. I´m not gonna spend more time or money.

the amp looks like the McIntosh amp my father used to use when I was a baby....it was so similar :-)

There´s a spanish phrase that says "Nunca te acostarás sin saber algo más", is like "You´ll never go to bed without knowing something new".

Well... my system is finally finished. I´ll update my signature next year

with the new photos. It´s not the system I wanted but... it´s better than the one I had a few months ago...

Nope, now it´s finished with a Sony SACD/DVD player

I´ll upgrade my webpages next week I hope with some photos made with my future (next week I hope again

) Nokia 6600, let´s see how it works...

Now I´m really happy with my system

(That McDonalds dinner is making me suffer...
