Multi-media loudspeakers

Hi All,

There have been some discussions about DIY kits for loudspeakers - these usually refer to the bookshelf type or the floorstanders. I am curious to know what would be the potential issues that one would face if one wanted to build a really small pair of speakers (for example a two way loudspeaker with a 3" mid-range and a smaller tweeter) - say for listening to songs from your PC when you are working. I am referring to what is normally called multi-media speakers!

Given that the sound quality will not be anywhere what you can get from a decent pair of bookshelves/floorstanders but is there any hope of getting decent sound from small loudspeakers.

Any good drivers etc available for building such things?

This may not qualify as a post for serious audiophiles so excuse me if this in the wrong forum (Manek, let me know if this it to be moved to another forum) but technically I think these would pose interesting problems to build one and that is what I am interested in.
