In case of: It's C712; 0,22F. 5,5V, soldered flat to the top side of the display PCB. Easy to find but one have to dismantle the entire front. Unfortunately I had an 1F, 5,5 V. vertically to solder. But guess what? Soldered it to the backside, cut out a rectangle to the metal shield behind and will enjoy a year or so saving my favourite stations without AC to switch on. I hope that you analyzed the charging curcuit. The IC901 LA5667 offers only 50mA at Out2 (Pin5 5.6V). Typical internal resistance Ri<30 Ohms ------> ~200mA. Good luck! ![]() [Beitrag von CarlM. am 17. Mai 2025, 23:32 bearbeitet] |

Isn't it only a matter of time combinded with current? AFAIK one can charge a 10A battery with 10A in 1 hour or 5A in 2 hours? I don't get it. So far it's running fine. But there is a diode next to the capacitor. Maybe preventing it from discharging. And I had no luck measuring it in circuit. |

I wanted to warn and to be careful. The power supply of tuners are weaker than those of receivers ... A regulator IC 7806 offers up to 1A and not only 50mA. Isn't it only a matter of time combinded with current? Yes. But you have no options to set a time base. It depends up on the actual grade of charge and the internal resistance (<30 Ohms for 1F and >100Ohms for 0.22F). When the capacitor is completely empty the current will be high. Don't forget .. there are other components which are connected to the 5.6V-out2 at the same time. But there is a diode next to the capacitor. Yes. It prevents discharging by the power supply when it is not connected to 230 VAC. [Beitrag von CarlM. am 18. Mai 2025, 23:14 bearbeitet] |

Moin, 1F should be possible. The data sheet for the LA5667 says "two independent regulators, 13V 350mA 5.6V 100mA". May be max. ratings. The regulators have internal current limiters. The Capacitor ist charged via R378 (47R) which limits the current to 100mA. It should be possible to replace this resistor with 100R so the current is limited to 50mA. Needs more time to charge the capacitor, but that should be no problem. 73 Peter [Beitrag von hf500 am 19. Mai 2025, 21:27 bearbeitet] |
