T+A CRITERION TMR160 MK-I WIRING AND CROSSOVERS

Hi guys
I already purchased a pair of T+A CRITERION TMR 160 MK I in order to restore and upgrade.
I will paint the big cabinet in a modern color like red carmine in lacquered paint or blue Cozumel, something like that
The suspensions of the subwoofer have been changed and the midrange, high-range and tweeter appear to be in good condition
I have read a lot of forum and post of upgrading vintage speakers, but there isn’t information about the TMR 160.
The guys of T+A sent me the original electric diagram of the internal wiring, filter and crossovers of the TMR, with the original nominal value for each component and cable connection !! due to I am considering to replace the capacitors and may be the high range and tweeter in order to get a better mid-range, because It lacks of. Some people talk about replacing with esoteric and expensive capacitors like Mundorf and other say that there is not difference expending such amount of money since you use new MKP capacitors instead of electrolytic ones.
My doubts are
1)Do you think that replacing the capacitors with the same nominal data I will appreciate a difference, in which range?
2)There is difference between brands using KPM capacitors?
3)Do I have to replace additional coil or resistance?
4)In order to improve the sound do you think is a good idea to replace some of the or all; the mid-range (2nd driver), high-range (3rd drivers) and tweeters (4th driver) and in this case, I think the capacitors and coils must be replace with new data, Is that difficult to calculate and replace? Do I notice difference in sound quality?
Thank You very much

First check that the circuit diagram does indeed correspond to your model (which is an MK I): the MK II version appeared in 1986, and your diagram is marked "drawn 23 July 87" with the remark "New version with tweeter D20 T60". It has been reported that even during the run of the MK I and MK II T+A made various changes/improvements, so read the values on the circuit board.

As you say that the sub-woofer has been repaired and the other chassis appear in good conditions, I would not make any changes there. However, some of the high range and tweeters of that time were filled with ferrofluid which over time have dried out.

On the circuit board I would measure all capacitors, or if you don't have access to a proper LCR meter, just replace them with MKPs of appropriate size; manufacturer does not matter.

Resistors (easy to measure) and inductors are unlikely to have any problems.

Given your questions, I doubt that you will be able to make any improvements that would better the sound of the original state of these speakers.
