I have a problem and/but I am wondering how many new postings start perhaps, not with those exact words, but with a similar appeal? This is my problem - and I should be very grateful for any expert advice. I recently sold a pair of Pro-Ac Mini Towers (vintage 1980's) to someone who lives a very long way away from me. I had been using them at least 10 years and personally really loved their tonal quality (although I appreciate it may have been significantly improved apon since their original manufacture). I paid a substantial amount to have them delivered to the buyer. The buyer now tells me that that the tweeters are both not working. This seems very unlikely to me as I would have thought that any damage in transit would have been unlikely just to disable these particular drives. My problem is how to I resolve this issue? If he is right then naturally I would have to arrange for them to be collected and to refund him. Can anyone shed any light on why this may have happened or (perhaps I am being cynical) why he might think they are not working? I should be very grateful for any advice that you audiophiles can give.

More than in posts here, I have seen such passages in Sherlock Holmes stories

Sorry, I dont have a clue as to what could have happened!
One possibility could be he does not have the jumpers in place, in case they are biwirable.

Well I have heard of this problem in many brand where in the U clips provided in the terminals get loose or come out of the saddle at times. That could be one of the problems too. I think you need to locate some good technical help locally rather than getting back the product to you again and then trying to figure out what you have to do. Get me the location and I will try to get you an expert tech help. Its not a great problem to worry. We hve people now a days who can handle Honey comb and ribbon speakers, so these conventional type speakers are nothing great.

Since your speakers are quite old the jumpers holding the tweeter clips could've worked loose in the transit...but both together is a mystery.....anyways open em and have a look....

Hi!
I think something has come loose inside the cabinets during transit. Ask your buyer to open the tweeter and see if the positive and negative wires are firmly attached to the tweeter terminals. It could have got loose.

You can also ask him to check the jumpers are not loose. See if anything is shaking inside the cabinet by holding the cabinet and giving it a shake. If something is shaking then something has got loose in transit. No major problem! Can be solved. Where are you based? You can even contact ProAc directly too if your in the UK.

If it was fine when these were in your possesion and croaked after he received it---I would call it a sheer bad luck for him. Tell him to take a fly~~~after stuff is sold no refund.Why are you bothered ---got the cash--end of it----just buy some new stuff and enjoy. BTW how about my Onkyo sub ..interested.

There will not be a big problem Just tell him to check the tweeters connection from a qulified person. These drivers are rock solid they dont get destroyed soon. So nothing more complicated. Just tell him to check his connections nothing more than that. Its just like to make juice
