All together they cost me 6.5k...this includes the shipping cost within the US and an additional 450 rupees for shipping them from Bombay to Bangalore...

Dear Sachi,

You are more then welcome Sachi ! Plllleeeeeeeeeeaaassssssse don't embarrass me.....I was just helping out in whatever little way I could.

As the forum can now see good quality drivers are available at a fraction of the cost then what is being currently sold in India.

How much did you get the midrange for Sachi...was it $ 3 ?? I seriously doubt at those prices, if anyone could get such quality !!

Regards,

Junia.

P.S. BTW I did pay a lump sum custom duty, which worked out to a negligible amount as to the speaker drivers.............

That's true...no way would one be able to acquire drivers of such quality at these unbelievable prices...The midrange motor is a dual stacked magnet and is awesome....it has been maed to Infinity's specifications by Vifa...

Oh!...howw come u did not mention this to me earlier..
i guess it was all the other stuff u brought along that attracted the customs officials..

Regarding the transformer...chill ...it was no problem at all ...their factory is just 2.5km from my place.

cheers,
Sachi

p.s: the transformer is of very good quality, only need to see if thye can deliver the rated current...pretty heavy too( at least 5 kgs)..

Hi All,

Just a quick clarification.

I will go out of my way to help any/all direct users, as to ferrying stuff at cost price from which ever part of the world they are available.

However it would be difficult if not impossible, to help commercial members who want to sell those "cost price" items to make a huge profit....I guess that defeats the whole purpose of helping out in the first case.

Additionally I would request, like Sachi has demonstrated, there should be no hassles as to the payment of the goods at the time of delivery in India. I am doing this in good faith I would request a similar reciprocal for all whom I interact with.

Thanks,

Regards,

Junia.

ok subboss right... here its how...

there are lots of factors man.. i dont know how deep ur are in speaker building but the factors consider alot...just check this to find what they really mean...

we can easily tell how its possible...

by seeing the cone type, diameter, voice coil size, and even magnet structure we can easlily estimate how it sounds.

Practical example: can u imagine how will it be if you use a 4 inch midbass for vocals, and 7 inch midbass for vocals.. which sounds more warmth and why... if you really want to dig deep into this then just check this and just dont just comment

Many even once I use to think that its impossible to expect the sound just by looking at the drivers...

But the problem in sachus midbass is that it has a foam surround it clearly says that it cant be as smooth as the butyl surround...

I do have tons of material regarding this and I m not suppose to post on the forum and get you confused...such expectation need lost of expertise in acoustics, physics etc....

Dont just comment man...

And even if you observe the benks 10 inch daytons then see it doesnt have big magnets and resulting in low BL product so that this driver cant give big and deep bass...but at the same time...since the magnet size is small the manufacturer need to sound the drive with better spl... so what he does is he improves the inductance of the coil so that it starts to give better spl...but at the same time a big drawback is that the woofer will not be in control...but one of the drawback in terms of driver speed and transient responses this driver will gives less performance...

So this results in slower in response but at the same time the tweeter is much faster in its transients...finally there will be lots of problems.

Why im telling u all these is that that is where choosing the driver is the foremost important thing in speaker designing...

anyway subboss there is no need for experts like you to tell all these things...

Let me no to go deep into the designing of the speakers and its enclosure...

Hope you support me or just be quiet...this is what is expect from you....

Well well nobody here knows or anywhere can comment how it sounds until it lands up in a cabinet with all the crossover,damping... By looking at materials if one could tell how it sounds then why do all need big labs to test.I still don't see a point how your expertise in physics and acoustics would help you to choose drivers like a cook chooses tomatoes for soup..mind you even those don't taste the way sometimes the way it was intended to be. Even now you feel you could do that then you are a supernatural specimen ...and i really don't need to tell where you gonna put that tons of your material...

Dear subboss its just upto some extent not perfectly the labs that they need is for precision results not for overview...
Even the big bees like make some common mistakes regarding their enclosure designs...

For me the ideal design should be like this...

Very fast response
Relatively smaller size
Min diffraction of sound
Max backwave absorption
Time alignment of driver
Time allgnment of crossover
Point source
Extreme weight of enclosure
etc etc...

For all the above things I make the design according to those specs...

Man just leave it yaar.. i do can expect its performance. Where the material I got it from highly experience people.
No matter what you think about it. Its master piece...

True..the midrange is foam surround...but for 3$ u can't complain....and it still is a Vifa..
I agree that i will not get deep bass but if the bass is tight enough its okay for me...
What is most important is the response till 35Hz should be good...below that this particular driver may have issues ....
The Bl product is around 11.4 and is pretty decent...the tweeter will always have a faster response because of the smaller mass...since the suspension(i.e the surround and the motor and spider) is dependednt on all of these and cause the magnet is small it it ideal to put it in a sealed box to keep the woofer from bottoming out(since Xmax is only 4.5mm)...
but i have decided to put it in a vented enclosure with a simple sub sonic filter to keep this from happening...

Cheers,
Sachi

Yes thats true and I even agree to your theory completely that materials will determine the sound as thats what makes every thimg unique.

There you see I didn't know that you sourced it from highly experienced people...getting stuff from them doesn't make your stuff great and for me your assumption is like getting yourself buried by an experienced undertaker doesn't take you to pearly gates..

Probably i expecting to audition this system at Prithvi and just keep that system there itself for sale. I dont know that prithvi will accept for this or not?

The second option is to make the spakers which can handle with 100 RMS nominal I have to see..which one to choose...
