RFT PA 2030

Hi,

(I don't speak German, so I will use English here. I'm sorry for any inconveniences)

I have a RFT PA 2030. It is running fine, but there is a problem. The turntable arm (which is automatic, as I saw from many youtube videos) does not lift itself to the platter, and I have to put it with my hand each time I play the record.

I took it to the repair shop and he told me that the string of the arm is not flexible anymore, so it could not be fixed. I don't know if there is anyway to fix this problem?

Is it the MA024?

Is MA 024 the system for the PA 2030?

Sorry, I'm a bit new for this.

But looking at the MA 024, I think it's quite similar to mine.

This must be the right drive.
There are of course no more spare parts, since the GDR and RFT no longer exist.
Here you have to improvise, or in an RFT forum ask if they have spare parts. Also look at Ebay or others.

Well I only see the cartridge and platter belt on ebay.

But look at the MA 024, I see those little strings at the "Schaltsperre" (what does this mean?). Can it affect the auto arm? Can I replace it with something else?

This can be the fault, but unfortunately some other components. Unfortunately, this can not be determined by remote diagnosis. Here you have the device in front of you and test.
However, pictures of the drive may also help.
