Verabschiedet Adam sich vom (X-)Art Mitteltöner?

Hallo!

Ich habe auf der ADAM Audio Homepage gesehen, dass bei den neuen S4X-Modellen der Mitteltöner ein HexaCone-Mitteltöner ist.

Bei den alten S4-Modellen hatte ADAM die ART-Mitteltöner verwendet. (http://www.adam-audio.de/studio/midfield/s4a_data.htm)

Weiß jemand, warum man sich bei den neuen Modellen gegen den X-ART-Mitteltöner entschieden hat?
In der Tensor-Serie kommt dieser ja durchaus zum Einsatz...

Hi,

ich schätze, es sind ganz profan die Kosten.
Fertigung und Material eines Mittelton-geeigneten ART werden ein mehrfaches (2 - 4) gegenüber Cone-Varianten bedingen.
Das spart man, wenn nur irgend möglich, gerne ein...

Dazu locken prinzipielle Vorteile im Bereich tieferer Einsatzfrequenz (Wirkungsgrad -- max. Schalldruck)...

Es wurde in einem anderen Forum kolportiert, dass die Tontechniker Kundschaft mit dem max.Pegel der S4VA nicht zufrieden war...

folgendes gefunden:

One of the most popular: why did the ART midrange disappear? Answer: I wanted to have the S3 and S4 models symmetrical, so that they can be used in 5.1 set ups without compromise. Therefore I had to introduce a cone midrange in both cases, that could start above 300 Hz (280 in the S4´s, 350 in the S3´s) to have the woofers working in the same frequency band without causing audible onterferences (these depend on the wavelenghts involved). So there are no more A or B soeakers.

Furthermore I hoped to improve the mids in the S3, and to have less dostirtions from the new X tweeter as it starts at 2800 Hz now.

The by far most important truth for all these discussions from my point of view: the proof is in the listening. Please give it a try, they deserve it.

After 4 days at the Frankfurt show I feel entitled to say: the comments where as clear as they could be that the SX models are a big step forward, including Michael Wagner saying: "The S3A sound broken" - certainly not the case, but of course I was glad to have a positive comment from this so proven S3A user.

Let me add that we built the S Series - S2A, S3A and S4A - for 10 years, so it was time to change.
